Happy DLD Day!!!
We had a great time celebrating in school. The children presented their DLD video during the morning assembly and we enjoyed watching everybody parade their purple and yellow balloons. They also enjoyed some lovely treats! Here are some forest tips if you would like to visit any forests with your children in the future. They all really enjoyed it so I would recommend a trip.
Additionally to these tips, remember to check any items you wish to take home with you. Ask yourself will an animal or insect need this. You should also check your child's skin for ticks after a forest visit. We had a great trip to Phoenix Park this week. We enjoyed the visitor centre, playground, our lovely walk to the forest and investigating the microhabitats of the forest. We were also lucky enough to be able to observe the deer and squirrels in the park.
We had a great time in Tyrrelstown House last week. The children enjoyed using their cards and iPads to identify the different trees and observed the different plants on a woodland floor.
